park The Parks Department are responsible for caring for the maintenance and beautification of our town. They are a dedicated team that often get stopped by admiring passer bys.

Here is a breakdown of some of what they maintain:

  • Trails and paths
  • Trees and shrubs
  • Hanging baskets & street planters
  • Bike racks & park benches
  • Snow & ice removal (sidewalks, let-downs & entrances to Town-owned buildings).
  • Seasonal decorations
  • Town Fields
  • Cemetery and perform burials
  • Maintain airport grounds

    The crews in the Parks Department also support the many Town events throughout the year, such as Family Day, Beach Day and other events.

    Our crews maintain over 280 hectares (691 acres) of Parks and Green Spaces. Here are some key spaces:

  • Beach Front Park
  • Brant Viewing Area
  • Christleton Park
  • Community Park
  • General Money Park
  • Glassford Square
  • Grandon Creek
  • Heritage Forest (14.2 Hectares)
  • Jubilee Park
  • Miraloma Park
  • Seacrest Park
  • Yambury Park
  • Valhalla grounds
  • Community Parks that contain six ball diamonds / soccer pitches / cricket pitch (7.3 hectares)
  • Playgrounds - Community Park and Christleton Park
  • BMX park
  • Skate Park
  • Tennis Courts
  • Off leash dog parks
  • Rain Garden
  • Faye Smith Memorial Park
