In 2018, the Town purchased the historic St. Andrew’s Lodge property. The property is approximately 9,800m² (2.4 acres), has over 70m of waterfront, and is in a key location at Buller Road and Highway 19A. The park is now named Saahtlam, which refers to “the green at the mouth of the river,” a name gifted by the Qualicum First Nation.

A 5% penalty is applied to current year property taxes outstanding at the end of the day on July 2, 2026. A second penalty of 5% will be applied to current year property taxes outstanding at the end of day on October 31, 2026.

The Advisory Planning Commission (APC) advises Council on matters within the scope of Section 898 of the Local Government Act. Matters are referred to the APC by Council or the Director of Planning. Each year the Town hosts the environmentally-focused Beach Day event to celebrate the natural wonder of its beaches! There are tents hosting many activities, a main stage for live music and a variety of games and entertainment on the grassy area along the waterfront.

In early 2021, BC Hydro conducted an LED street light replacement, changing out a total of 550 BC Hydro lights to LED lights in Qualicum Beach. This federal regulation required all street light ballasts in B.C. containing PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) to be removed by the end of 2025. BC Hydro chose LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) because they use less energy and are more reliable and sustainable.

Streetlights in Qualicum Beach improve the safety of our roadways, especially pedestrian safety. The Beach Creek Culvert Replacement project included the replacement of two culverts and reinforcement of the embankment, as well as the installation of a fish-friendly flow control structure, the upgrading of water mains and partial road reconstruction. The Beach Creek Culvert Replacement measures ensured that the culverts would withstand future pressures while promoting the health of the surrounding environment.
Since the incorporation of the Chartwell subdivision in 2004, a single watermain has supplied the area, posing a vulnerability in the event of a break. This project will install a second watermain along Rupert Road, from Qualicum Road to Ravensbourne Lane, significantly improving the resiliency of the water supply infrastructure.

The Qualicum Beach Skatepark was constructed approximately 25 years ago. In 2023, a Feasibility Study was undertaken, resulting in its reconstruction to allow with more muli-level use and skill progression.
In addition to a modernized skatepark, the project delivers broader improvements to the Community Park, including accessible pathways that link the Civic Centre parking lot and playing fields, as well as multipurpose seating for both the skatepark and nearby amenities.

The Community Transportation Plan (previously called the Age Friendly Transportation Plan) is an over-arching guide that seeks to improve all aspects of the transportation network for all users. This can include nature trails, sidewalks and crossings, cycling paths, traffic speeds, public transit and much more.
The East Village Revitalisation project is transforming a neglected, uninviting region in Qualicum Beach’s uptown area which is framed by Memorial Avenue and bordered by Fir Street, Fern Road and Berwick Road. The project will create a unique and thriving neighbourhood for both businesses and residents.

The Town provides high-quality water to the residents of Qualicum Beach through state-of-the-art ultraviolet and chlorination water disinfection. Over 100km of water mains and water services transport drinking water to residents. Seven reservoirs, eleven pump stations and three booster stations provide clean water to residents every day. Located in the centre of Qualicum Beach, at 747 Jones Street, the Civic Centre is perfect for hosting major conferences, conventions, concerts, tradeshows, banquets and weddings. The Civic Centre’s professional staff are on-site and available to assist you with event planning.
In 2008, the Town of Qualicum Beach completed extensive renovations and improvements to the Qualicum Beach Community Hall at 644 Memorial Avenue. Constructed in 1933 at the corner of Memorial Avenue and Veterans Way, this building is a highly visible landmark in Qualicum Beach.
