Eaglecrest Garden Club
The Eaglecrest Garden Club was formally organized
in 1983. It's mandate is "to further knowledge and enjoyment of gardening as a
healthy recreation and to beautify our community and properties".
The Eaglecrest Club meets at 7:30 p.m. the
third Wednesday of each month, February through November. At each meeting a special
guest or a panel of its members is invited to speak on a wide variety of gardening
topics.
Members are encouraged to enter their flowers,
vegetables and decorative arrangements in a friendly monthly Parlour Show.
Qualicum Beach Garden Club
The Qualicum Beach Garden Club was formed in
November 1995. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, except August,
and includes guest speakers. A barbecue party is held in August, and the Annual
General Meeting in December.
The Club's aim is to be educational, enjoyable
and to further the knowledge and enjoyment of gardening.
A library of gardening books is maintained.
Mini tours of member or non-member gardens are held during the year. Club members
participated in the creation and planting of the Qualicum Beach Museum Garden.
The Club also promotes a photography contest and specific plant contests, and
holds the annual Eaglecrest Garden Club Flower and Garden Show at the Qualicum
Beach Civic Centre.
