Qualicum Beach Votes in 2008!
Provincial laws require local governments across BC to hold elections on the third Saturday in November every three years, and regulate how to conduct the election.
Will you be:
on November 15, 2008? If so, mark the following key dates on your calendar for the 2008 General Local Election to elect your Mayor and four Councillors and to express your view on any other voting questions that may be asked:
August 29: Candidates’ information packages will be available at Town Hall September 30: Nomination period begins at 9:00 am October 10: Nomination period closes at 4:00 pm November 5: Advance Voting (at Civic Centre 8:00 am – 8:00 pm) November 12: Advance Voting (at Civic Centre 8:00 am – 8:00 pm) November 15: General Voting Day (at Civic Centre 8:00 am – 8:00 pm) November 15: Unofficial election results may be announced after voting closes and votes counted November 19: by 4:00 pm the official election results must be declared December 1: Inaugural Council Meeting (Mayor and Councillors to be sworn in)
